Before pursuing his career in the legal field, Austin worked in real estate where he developed a passion for assisting others achieve their major life goals. That same desire is what drove Austin into practicing law in the fields of business formation, estate planning, real estate law, and probate.
Austin earned his JD from the Texas Tech School of Law and his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, Sports Management, from The University of Texas at Austin. While at Texas Tech, Austin was a member of the Board of Barristers and was elected President of the Longhorn Bar Association by his peers. Austin is an active member of Texas Young Lawyers Association, Austin Bar Association, Austin Young Chambers of Commerce, and the State Bar of Texas’ Estate Planning and Probate Sections. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas, and is a certified attorney ad litem.
When Austin is not counseling others, he can likely be found training for an upcoming endurance race. For reasons he can’t explain, he enjoys competing in long distance road cycling races and the occasional marathon. He teaches an indoor cycling class on the weekends, and tries to hit the golf links whenever he can. But most of all, Austin cherishes spending time with his family and close friends, especially when it involves traveling to fun destinations.
"To me, a lawyer is basically the person that knows the rules of the country. We're all throwing the dice, playing the game, moving our pieces around the board, but if there is a problem the lawyer is the only person who has read the inside of the top of the box."
Before entering law school, Matthew was an avid baseball player and a member of the Trinity University baseball team. As a member of the baseball team he developed a strong work ethic, tenacity, and attention to detail that he continues to use while practicing in the fields of business formation, estate planning and probate, and guardianship legal fields today.
Matthew earned his JD from the Texas Tech School of Law and his BS in Business Administration and Management from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. While at Texas Tech Matthew served as the Treasurer for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and was a writer for the Texas Bank Lawyer. Matthew is a licensed attorney in the State of Texas, a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and a member of the State Bar of Texas' Oil and Gas Section. He has also earned his certification to act as a guardianship attorney ad litem in the state of Texas.
When Matthew is not practicing law he can usually be found running or biking around the town lake trail or practicing at one of the local trap and skeet ranges. He also continues to indulge in his passion for baseball, though as a coach and assistant rather than as a player.
